Description
A rich magenta-pink handwoven cotton with deep indigo-purple woven diamond lines and tiny repeating butta details. The contrast between the bright ground and darker woven motif gives the fabric a strong geometric look while still feeling distinctly traditional.
Authentically handwoven in Tamil Nadu, India, in the area outside Chennai. Bhumi & Pari sources these textiles as part of our small collection of Indian handwoven fabrics.
This is a woven butta design: the small motifs and diamond pattern are formed as part of the weave rather than printed onto the surface. The slight texture created by the woven pattern is part of its appeal.
Beautiful for dresses, skirts, tops, shirts, relaxed trousers, jackets, bags and other sewing projects that benefit from a fabric with a little woven structure and visual texture.
Small variations in the weave, thread tension, colour and alignment are part of the character of a genuinely handwoven textile and are not considered faults.

How to order
We sell our fabrics in 50 cm increments. Choose the number of increments needed for your total length. For example, select 2 for 1 metre or 4 for 2 metres. Multiple increments will be supplied as one continuous length wherever possible.
Every effort has been made to accurately portray the colours used in this fabric; however, individual monitor settings, lighting and other factors may cause some variation.
