Description
A crisp, versatile handwoven Madras Kattam cotton with a fine black grid woven across a soft ivory-white ground. The small-scale check has a clean, graphic look that works beautifully on its own or alongside brighter Indian textiles.
This is genuine Madras Kattam cotton, handwoven in small villages outside Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The check is created by the yarns during weaving rather than printed onto the finished cloth.
Easy to use for shirts, dresses, skirts, tops, lightweight trousers, patchwork and a wide range of everyday sewing projects.
Small variations in the weave, thread tension, colour and alignment are part of the character of a genuinely handwoven textile and are not considered faults.
