This is a light-weight 100% cotton fabric. The print is bsed on Warli painting which is a form of tribal art mostly created by the tribal people from the North Sahyadri Range in Maharashtra, India and are are among the finest examples of the folk style of paintings. These rudimentary wall paintings use a set of basic geometric shapes: a circle, a triangle, and a square. These shapes are symbolic of different elements of nature. The circle and the triangle come from their observation of nature.

  • This fabric was hand-printed in the Bhuj-Kutch area of Gujarat, India.
  • The fabric is printed using hand wood block printing using natural and synthetic dyes.
  • The width of the fabric is 116 cms.
  • For scale, the spiral pattern is approximately 7.5 cms across the widest section.
  • The pattern runs length way along this fabric.

As this fabric is hand printed there will be some pattern and colour variations across the length of the fabric. You are really buying a one of a kind item!

Every effort has been made to accurately portray the colours used in this fabric, however individual monitor settings and other factors may cause discrepancies.

We recommend the you use the following care instructions.

  • It is recommended to wash the fabric before use, particularly dark colours and indigo. These may take more than one wash to get residual dye out. There will be minimal shrinkage due to the printing process.
  • Gentle cold machine wash
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not bleach
  • Warm iron
  • Do not dry clean
