Description
Bring a little drama to your next sewing project with this beautiful mustard yellow and black Ajrak cotton fabric.
The warm ochre-yellow ground is scattered with a bold, stylised Banyan Tree motif in black, creating a striking design with a lovely graphic quality. The large-scale tree pattern makes this a fabric that can stand on its own, whether you use it for clothing, homewares or a special sewing project.
This fabric is described by the supplier as Ajrak, hand block printed on cotton. Ajrak is particularly associated with the Sindh region and neighbouring areas of India and Pakistan and is known for its distinctive geometric and nature-inspired designs, often built up through repeated hand-printing and dyeing processes.
We’ve photographed the actual fabric so you can see the colours and scale of the design for yourself. As with hand printed textiles, small variations in printing are part of what makes each piece individual.
This is a limited 135cm remnant, making it particularly suited to smaller garments and sewing projects such as a top, skirt, child’s garment, bag, cushion cover or feature panel.
