This is a 100% Indian kala cotton fabric which is similar to a heavy linen.

Kala cotton is an old-world cotton that is native to the Bhuj-Kutch area of western Gujarat in India. The cotton is environmentally friendly requiring no irrigation,  pesticides or fertilisers to grow. It is referred to as organic because of this but is not certified.

  • This fabric was hand woven from kala cotton on the loom in the Kutch-Bhuj area of Gujarat, India.
  • The fabric has a raw natural texture and weave.
  • The width of the fabric is 108 cms.
  • The length of the fabric is 165 cms.

Description

As this fabric is hand woven there will be some pattern and colour variations across the length of the fabric. You are really buying a one of a kind item!

Every effort has been made to accurately portray the colours used in this fabric, however individual monitor settings and other factors may cause discrepancies.

We recommend the you use the following care instructions.

  • It is recommended to wash the fabric before use, particularly dark colours and indigo. These may take more than one wash to get residual dye out. There will be minimal shrinkage due to the printing process.
  • Gentle cold machine wash
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not bleach
  • Warm iron
  • Do not dry clean
